What Trends Would You Like To See Make a Comeback?

Splash News

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the latest red carpet fashions, then you know that many celebrities, like Jessica Simpson and Kate Bosworth, are big fans of Herve Leger’s body-hugging bandage dresses. It’s just one of the ways designers are reflecting this season’s streamlined silhouettes. But it seems like just yesterday we were embracing more billowy styles, like Kate Beckinsale’s bubble dress. Only a few seasons ago, the look was perfect for a top, skirt or dress and post holiday weight gain, that’s one trend we wouldn’t mind revisiting. Now the editors at StyleWatch want to know what you think. Tell us: What fashion trend would you love to see make a comeback and why? –Archana Ram

Shoe-Off: Kate Bosworth vs. Heidi Montag

Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage; NPG

We’ve been seeing outrageous star fashions all over Hollywood recently. And when Kate Bosworth first stepped out in these funky Chloe wedges at the beginning of the month while promoting her new movie 21 we thought they were a little questionable. Kate, however, is known for pushing the fashion envelope and made them seem totally cool. Then this weekend, Heidi Montag followed in the fashionable star’s footsteps, sporting the $750 patent wedge booties while promoting her clothing line, Heidiwood, at Kitson in L.A. — and we can’t say we loved the look quite as much on her. The shoes somehow seem a little too “high-fashion” for the Hills star. But we want to know what you think. Tell us: Who rocks the designer heels better: Kate Bosworth or Heidi Montag? Would you wear them?

Would You Wear an Art Print Dress?

Scott Wintrow/Getty

We’ve had to brush up on art history to prep for this season’s painterly tops and dresses so that we can approach each piece with a curator’s eye. And since colorblocking, ethereal watercolors and abstract brush strokes are ruling the runways, our closet’s starting to look like a mini museum. As a fan of every art-inspired look, we’re digging this Chloe dress worn by actress Emily Mortimer. Framed by black tights and eye-catching purple booties, the dress is truly a work of art. Other stars loving the trend? Demi Moore, whose YSL paint-splattered shift is perfect for a sunny summer day. Tell us: Are you feeling this artsy trend? Would you wear a painterly dress? What do you like about the look — or hate about it?

Would You Wear Bold Florals Like Molly Sims?

Jamie McCarthy/WireImage

We haven’t seen this many flowers since our Laura Ashley shopping days. But unlike those pretty pastels prints, this season’s florals are bold and bright — perfect for making a statement day or night. We swooned over Molly Sims’ body-skimming Diane Von Furstenberg designer gown. And Nicole Richie’s short a-line frock is super cute. Basically, we’re loving look and plan on rocking it soon — we’ve definitely got spring fever! Tell us: Would you don a bold floral? If so, would you wear it during the day or in the evening?

What Trends Are You Over?

LUIS GUERRA/RAMEY; Starsurf/Splash News

No matter how much we used to love it, sometimes seeing a look too many times (even on our fave celebs!) is enough to make us cringe. Our summer fling with colored frames is definitely finished. We were originally thrilled to see Wayfarers make a comeback, but by now, we’re a little tired of seeing red and white frames pop up on everyone from Sienna Miller and Mary-Kate Olsen to Drew Barrymore and Kirsten Dunst. It’s just too tough a look to work without a summer tan. But we want to know what you’re over! Tell us: What trend — fashion or otherwise — are you totally over and why?
