Zodiac/Splash News Online

A little more recently than William Wallace, Marc Jacobs has been sporting skirts this fall, causing a buzz among fashion followers. But when Twilight star Cam Gigandet went shopping in Beverly Hills yesterday in argyle socks and a kilt, we had to take notice. Putting aside the speculation about what gets worn under kilts, we want to know your opinion of Cam’s bold new casual look. Tell us: What do you think of Cam’s kilt for everyday wear?

Paris, Nicky, Nicole, Lauren, Rachel and More Celebrate with D&G

Reuters /Landov

A little rain didn’t stop the fashionistas from celebrating the unveiling of the D&G flagship store on Robertson Boulevard, benefiting Art of Elysium. Lauren Conrad planned ahead for the chilly night. “I wanted to wear tights, so I asked for a mini.” she tells PEOPLE of her black chiffon cocktail dress, which she paired with a Top Shop hair bow. Conrad says she has yet to decrease her shopping budget. “For me I’m cutting back everywhere except for shopping. I think being a designer I want to continue to support them right now. I think it’s a really scary time but if people stop spending it’s only going to get worse.” Jennifer Morrison, in a black velvet mini cocktail frock, had her own strategy to keep from shopping. “I’m trying not to look. I’ve already spent way more money in D&G stores than I ever should!” she says. But the 6,136-square-foot store contained plenty of temptation for the House actress. “In here they have space to really show the whole collection, which is so nice,” Morrison says. And Ginnifer Goodwin, also in all black, pointed out the “convenient” location. “Robertson definitely has its own following as a street. It’s a younger, hipper Rodeo,” says the actress, who chatted with host Rachel Bilson inside. Sister act Paris and Nicky Hilton chatted and happily posed for photos on the red carpet. D&G devotees also included some men, like Danny Masterson, who spun tunes under his moniker DJ Momjeans; Corbin Bleu, who chatted with Rumer Willis; Joel Madden, who hung tight with girlfriend Nicole Richie; and Golden Globe nominee Kevin Connolly who wants the fashion house to dress him for the big day. “It’s already a done deal. They’re always the nicest.” – Jenny Sundel

Jude Law Sounds Off on Style Heritage and Fashion Hoarding

Dave M. Benett/Getty

Jude Law denies he’s a fashionista, but he sure does know how to rock a tailored suit. At the opening of Bourdon House, the ‘London Home of Alfred Dunhill’ on Tuesday night, the face of the brand paired his navy single-breasted suit with, in his own words “a really cheap T-shirt.” It’s a modern take on dressing up, but he’s a traditional guy at heart, telling PEOPLE: “I think men lost something when they stopped wearing hats and suits,” reminiscing back to tales of his grandfather who would wear a full three piece suit and hat every day to work in his candy shop. “A hat is also something slightly effeminate, the way you wear your hat, it’s very personal — I love the quaint traditionalism of that.” His two sons (Rafferty, 11 and Rudy, 6) stand to inherit more than just their dad’s sense of style, as he’s a self confessed hoarder and has several items in storage for his boys, such as the tuxedo he wore to his first Academy Awards. And then there are some more unusual items: “I keep many clothes from my films. My favorite is my plastic suit from Artificial Intelligence: AI,” confessed the actor. “I kept the whole suit and actually when you look at it, it’s disgusting, it really is a piece of plastic.”

What Do You Think of Emile Hirsch’s Quirky New Look?

Eliot Press/Bauer-Griffin

Emile Hirsch is a lot of things — a certifiable action star (hello, Speed Racer!), a Screen Actors Guild award nominee — but one he isn’t yet: a style star. Sure, that may not be a legitimate expectation for the 23-year-old actor who roughed it for his role in Into the Wild. But Hirsch appears to be trying to change all of that. Witness the glam-Western inspired getup he wore to Valentino’s spring menswear show recently — he is also the face of the line for the Spring 09 collection. You have to appreciate that he made an effort past his typical uniform of jeans and a T-shirt, but we can’t help but think that Hirsch missed the mark by trying to go too high fashion all at once. And here’s what really stings: He has the raw materials — never mind the acting chops — to be the full package: a brilliant actor and a head-turner. Tell us: What do you think of Emile’s look? Is it hot? Or does he need a makeover?

Posh Sounds Off on Denim Do’s and Don’ts — For Guys!

INF

Victoria Beckham may wear her jeans as skinny as possible, but she’s got a double standard for the guys in her life. “I think guys should wear jeans big and baggy, with a big pair of boots or flip-flops — exactly how you see David when he’s out in his jeans and T-shirt,” she tells DNR. “Do not pull them up tight and have your bulge showing. Let it hang!” So she’s adding men’s styles to her already successful denim line dVb, but as stylish as she and husband David Beckham are, she insists this is a line for real men. “If you are a man that likes really skinny jeans, very fashiony, this isn’t really the line for you. I didn’t want anything too tight around the crotch. That really repulses me.” Expect to see bootcut styles with faded washes, with prices ranging from $220 to $285, that all were roadtested on her fashionable husband. “When I get the prototypes, I try them on him. He says they are the best-fitting jeans he’s ever had,” explains Beckham. And in case you think that Victoria isn’t doing her fair share of work, she defends herself to DNR. “I’m a complete control freak and I want everything to be perfect. I’m not doing a Britney Spears and just putting my name on something and saying, ‘Sell this perfume.’ This is a real passion of mine. People think all I do is go shopping like a miserable cow, but, in actual fact, I work bloody hard.”
