Gossip Girl Stars Help Relaunch Ray Ban’s “Clubmaster”

Jamie McCarthy/WireImage

Gossip Girl stars Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford joined forces to help relaunch Ray Bans “Clubmaster” shades at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom last night. Known for its distinctively cool and classic 1950s design, the “Clubmaster” was worn by legends as disparate as Malcolm X and Katherine Hepburn. It seems only fitting that the Gossip Girl stars would help rebirth it. Other stylish stars in attendance included Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson and Maggie Gyllenhaal. We can’t wait to get our hands on a pair. You can get your own pair of “Clubmasters”, $130, at a Sunglass Hut near you.

Hollywood in the Haute Seat: 2008 Couture Shows

Thibault Camus/AP

The City of Lights shone a little brighter this week as Hollywood’s biggest stars descended on Paris for the Spring/Summer 2008 haute couture shows. See what Hilary Swank, Uma Thurman, Blake Lively, and more got up to at the most exclusive runway shows of the season.

Chanel
Lost in Translation filmmaker Sofia Coppola and legendary singer Marianne Faithful were front and center for the French design house, whose parade of undulating shapes and organic details gave form to an ocean-inspired vision.

Christian Dior
Opulent exuberance was the look at Dior, where body-conscious dresses turned up the volume in bold colors like canary yellow, lime green and fuchsia. Stars like Diane Kruger were among the luck first to get an up-close view of the collection’s cut-out platform wedge heels and fluorescent feather eyelashes.

Blake Lively Dishes on Couture, Costumes and Cocktails

INF

It’s a long way from show choir to the Chanel Haute Couture show in Paris, but that’s just the kind of leap that 20-year old Blake Lively is experiencing now. “I had a normal, all-American high school experience — nothing like the kids on Gossip Girl,” Blake tells PEOPLE, tricked out in a black pleated Chanel bubble dress and long strands of pearly necklaces.”The amount of money the characters have is incredible. The kids on the show drink cocktails at the Palace Hotel; I was eating hamburgers at fundraisers at Fuddruckers.” But she’s totally enjoying the access the show is giving her a scant two years out of high school. “[It's] opened so many doors for me, like coming to Paris to see a Chanel show.” But considering that the show is nearly as famous for its designer costumes as for its steamy sex scenes, a fashion show is a natural place for Serena van der Woodsen’s alter ego. And that’s just fine with Lively. “It doesn’t even seem like a job,” she says. “We’re getting paid to live in New York and wear amazing clothes.”
