For example, Rachel Bilson can’t live without her La Mer face cream. “It’s a lot of money but you only need very little that goes a long way, so it lasts a really long time. It’s more of an investment. It really does [work],” Bilson tells PEOPLE. We want to know your beauty must-have! Tell us: In budget conscious times, what is the one beauty item you absolutely cannot live without? And what is the first thing that you would willingly give up?

Ellen DeGeneres has been gearing up for her first beauty campaign as the face of CoverGirl and Olay’s newest product Simply Ageless Foundation. This product is a first of its kind — an anti-aging makeup that stays suspended over fine lines and wrinkles, instead of settling into lines which can make you look older. Ellen’s famous face will be the focus of the new print and television ads starting in January 2009. “I’m thrilled to be a CoverGirl,” says Ellen. “I’ve been practicing in my bathroom mirror for years…Now finally, you’ll all be able to see it.” Tell us: What do you think of Ellen’s CoverGirl ads?

The Body Shop and MTV Get Lippy About HIV!

Talk about getting lippy! MTV and The Body Shop have joined forces and launched the “Move Your Lips” campaign, which includes selling a limited-edition Guarana Lip Butter for parched puckers to raise money for HIV/AIDS awareness. Proceeds from the product, sold in Body Shop stores worldwide, will go directly to the Staying Alive Foundation, the MTV HIV/AIDS charity, “which gives monetary awards to young people, globally, who run their own youth-focused HIV and AIDS awareness projects,” according to the Foundation. So far Staying Live has given out over $450,000 to more than 80 projects. The previous MTV-Body Shop collaboration, Spray To Change, entirely funded last year’s awards. Log-on to MoveYourLips.com for more information about the Foundation, and to compete for a pair of tickets to an MTV Awards show in the U.K. in June. Elle Macpherson’s New Role: Face of Revlon

OSD Photo Agency/Rex

Following in the footsteps of beauty icons like Halle Berry and Jessica Alba, Elle Macpherson has signed on to be Revlon’s global face, the brand announced this morning. And while the model’s good looks may be instantly recognizable, it’s not just her beauty that accounts for the supermodel’s selection. Explains Revlon’s President and CEO David Kennedy, “Elle’s special qualities as a businesswoman, beautiful and talented model, actress and mother represent the essence of the Revlon brand.” In addition to starring in a world-wide advertising campaign, Elle’s role with Revlon will focus on another important part of her life: philanthropy. “I am proud to join Revlon in its celebration of women, and in its long-term commitment and support for education and research to advance women’s health and particularly to fight women’s cancers,” she says.

Heatherette Teams Up With M.A.C.!

Todd Williamson/WireImage

Out with the black, in with the pink! At least that’s Richie Rich and Traver Rains’s motto. The design duo behind Heatherette has teamed up with M.A.C. to bring their signature pink and sparkle-filled style to the latest limited-edition collection for the make-up brand. “My favorite thing about the collection is the packaging. It’s so cool for M.A.C.,” Rains told PEOPLE at the Heatherette by M.A.C. Spring Launch party in Los Angeles on Thursday night. “It definitely gets people’s attention when you pull it out of your bag.” Adds Rich, “It’s fun to have the whole M.A.C.-black whatever but I wanted something that was a lot more representative of what we believe in. It just makes you happy.” And considering that the Heatherette clothing label already counts M.A.C. spokesmodels Pamela Anderson, Fergie, and Dita Von Teese as fans, a partnership with the make-up brand was inevitable. “The last eight years, they’ve done almost every fashion show with us, and they did a lipstick with us called Heatherette — it was hot pink — so it was just a natural progression for us,” said Rains. And what was their inspiration for the new collection? “We wanted to make it like hot pink like ‘ooooh,’” enthused Rich. “So that it’s like Bubble Tape — like bubblegum that you can actually open up and wear.” Bubblegum pink was indeed the theme of the night, from hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, to the shirts painted on the male models at the entryway. As for what the collection represents, “Good girl, bad girl, good boy, bad boy, bad girl, pretty boy, all of that!” revealed Rich. “It’s about loving fashion, loving make-up, and having fun. Just look at me as our motto!” Click here to see the whole collection.
