Katherine Heigl’s Secret Under-Eye Treatment

Whether fresh-faced in her scrubs as Grey’s Anatomy’s doctor Izzy Stevens or turning heads on the red-carpet, Katherine Heigl always makes me envious of her flawless skin and rested-looking eyes. Her secret? Hylexin, an advanced formula that breaks down the dark pigments in the skin that cause chronic under-eye circles. As someone that is genetically predisposed to terrible dark circles and never gets enough sleep, I am always skeptical of eye creams that promise miracles, but Hylexin actually worked! After just one week, my eyes were brighter, skin was firmer and no puffiness. Of course Hylexin doesn’t come cheap- $95 a tube- but the benefits are worth it and the small amount needed in a single application make it last longer. Buy Hylexin at sephora.com. If you don’t want to spend the money, try Oil of Olay’s Total Effects Eye Transforming Cream, $19, at cvs.com. Tell us: Do you have a secret under-eye treatment?Andrea DeSimone

Forget Prom! Taylor Swift’s Big Night Out

Why go to prom if you can be the belle of the ball at the Academy of Country Music Awards? Wearing a custom-made gown by Nashville designer Sandi Spika and Tiffany pink sapphire earrings, seventeen year-old Taylor Swift got the chance last night to make up for missing a few key moments at school. “Every girl should have a night where they can dress up and feel like a princess,” said the high school senior (and nominee for top new female vocalist). “I didn’t go to prom this year so I feel like this could be my equivalent of senior prom.” Maybe better — aside from being nominated, the singing sensation also finally met the man who was inspiration for her top 5 single aptly titled, “Tim McGraw.” After performing the song in front of McGraw and wife Faith Hill, the songstress extended her hand, saying “Hi, I’m Taylor.”
