What’s Katherine Heigl’s Best Look?

Katherine Heigl has quickly established herself as a total glamour girl — she is the epitome of Old Hollywood at award shows like the SAGs and Emmys. Even arriving to the GM Fashion Show in February, she was dazzlingly feminine in a ruffled Anna Sui frock. So, we almost did a double take seeing her in a tailored white Armani suit with a simple black buttondown blouse at Saturday night’s GLAAD awards. Not that the statuesque blonde doesn’t look good in anything she wears, but we are so used to see her all girly that we don’t know what to think. Tell us: Which look do you like better for Katherine? Glamour girl or simple & sleek?

Beauty For a Cause: Too Faced Palette

There’s a reason that May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. As we head towards summer and outdoors fun, it’s time to remember why it is that we slap on SPF before we head out.  Lisa Blandino, sister of Two Faced Cosmetics founder Jared Blandino, is a living reminder of why sunscreen and skin cancer screenings are so important.  Not long ago, Lisa was diagnosed with 4th stage Melanoma and began receiving chemotherapy. Despite dire predictions, Lisa has beaten the cancer.  In response to her experience, Lisa and her brother have created the Lisa Love Beauty Battle Box, a beautiful makeup palette that contains four eyeshadows, two lipglosses and a duo face shimmer. When you buy the kit, you get perfect spring/summer colors, you’re also helping the cause. 42% of net proceeds go to the Melanoma Research Foundation, a non-profit organization that strives to find a cure for malignant melanoma.  Just remember to apply the sunscreen before you use your new palette. Get the Love Lisa Beauty Battle Box for $33 at sephora.com.

Nicole Richie’s New Do: Love it or Hate it?

Even though Nicole Richie’s tried every hair color — blonde to red to brunette — we’d gotten used to her long, caramel colored locks recently. But when she stepped out on the red carpet for the Race to Erase MS Gala in L.A. on Saturday night, the Simple Life star had a much lighter, sleeker shoulder-length cut with heavy bangs. We think the paler blonde sets off her skin tone beautifully, and the bob suits her petite frame. But we want to know what you think! Tell us: Do you love Nicole’s new do? Or should she go back to her old look?

Great Green Idea: Cargo’s Plant Love

This Earth Day, share the love — the Cargo Plant Love, that is. This eco-friendly lipstick line has a tube made out of corn, botanical ingredients like Orchid Complex and meadowfoam seed oil (doesn’t that sound healthy?) — but our favorite part is that the boxes are embedded with seeds and can be planted. And for every lipstick sold, two dollars will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital . If all of that wasn’t enough, some of the colors were created by stars including Lindsay Lohan, Evangeline Lily and Mariska Hargitay. Buy yours for $20 at sephora.com.

Do You Wear High Heels Like Gwen and Jessica?

BAUER-GRIFFIN; INF

I’m a terrible high heel wearer. Anything above 1-1/2 inches has me cringing and reaching for Band-Aids, insoles, you name it — anything to help ward off the inevitable blisters! So when I saw this photo of Gwen Stefani in her six-inch YSL Tribute pumps, all I could do was stare in wonderment. For me, just standing in heels that high would be hard enough! Add a baby and a set of stairs and it’s utterly impossible! That’s not to say Gwen doesn’t look as cool and stylish as always, but walking in heels this high obviously requires skills I don’t have. As for Jessica Biel’s – are these shoes or tools of torture? Until I grow a set of super-human, blister-proof feet, I think I’ll stick to my super-comfy Juicy Couture flats! Tell me: What’s the highest heel you wear?Kara Murphy
