I thought the closest I’d get to being a Chanel girl is my logo sunglasses, but today’s Fall ‘07 show in Paris revealed an even cheaper way to get the look of France’s most exclusive brand: crimp my hair. All the models at the show sported some crimped strands — though thankfully not the whole head. Backstage, as they waited between shows (Chanel does two back-to-back shows – one for press and another for clients and buyers), the models sported white lab coats over their outfits and either Chanel ballet flats or platform wedge white tennis shoes (take that, Uggs!). As for the show itself: Lots of sporty chic, slender skirts and — you guessed it — tweed, shown on a runway of artificial snow in Paris’s Grand Palais. Above hung fabric clouds, which at the end released a shower of “snow,” a.k.a confetti – dusting a front row that included Chanel-clad Jessica Biel and casually dressed British singer Lily Allen. Said designer Karl Lagerfeld: “I felt like doing a very chilled décor as we are always talking of global warming, to reassure people.” I, for one, felt totally chilled out.

Is it just us or do Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson look oddly alike in these photos? Paris hit the streets of L.A. — on foot, of course — in a signature primary colored outfit, while Jessica got into character for her new film Blonde Ambition in New York. (No, she’s not back to blonde, it’s a wig for her character). With those the red dresses, high-heeled mary janes, the curly blond bobs with hair accessories, they look like style sisters. The truly scary thing? Only one of them is a costume.

Is Cate Blanchett the victim of some fashion foul play? The actress was set to carry a $100,000 Lana Marks purse on the red carpet, but the bag mysteriously went missing from her hotel room the day before the Oscars. While the New York Daily News is speculating that it could be the result of a secret plot, a Lana Marks Company spokesperson had no comment on the circumstances. The handbag was produced in black alligator and framed in 18-kt gold with white diamonds and 35 carats of pavé black diamonds. “We are devastated by the loss of this handbag and request that anyone who has information regarding its whereabouts please step forward and contact the Los Angeles Police Department,” the rep tells PEOPLE. (We’ll let you make your own fashion police joke now.)

Blame it on Miuccia — as soon as Prada showed their Spring collection with all the models wearing satin turbans, we know the look would be in style. And while stars like Jennifer Lopez have always loved their headwraps, trendsetters like Ashley Olsen are already snapping up the pricey Prada bands ($300 and up). Of course, if you don’t want to invest quite that much in the trend, Forever 21 is making a version for a much more bearable $5. But the real question is do you want to wear it? Chloe Sevigny has been known for her off-beat fashion choices for years, so we’re always eager to see her latest look. At the L.A. premiere of her latest film Zodiac – she co-stars with Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo — the actress stepped out in a hot pink Luella minidress, accessorized with Neil Lane jewels and Dolce & Gabbana pumps. We love the bright burst of color and the origami-like skirt, but we can see where others might not be so keen on it. So we leave it up to you! Tell us: What do you think of Chloe’s look? “Like a new woman” — that’s how Posh feels with her new blonde hair, according to an interview she gave British paper The Sun. The do is for a new ad campaign for the US launch of her and hubby David’s Intimately Beckham perfumes, but that’s not the only reason why. As we guessed, she was working on her transformation into an L.A. girl, “I thought it was very suitable for when we move to L.A. as well. It’s a bit of a sun-kissed Californian look, I hope.” And since her regular London-based hairdressers, Ben Cooke and Jonathan Long, were with her to do her hair for Oscar weekend, they set themselves up in Chris McMillan’s celeb-filled salon, where they worked with colorist Johnny Ramirez to create Posh’s new lighter look (the cut was actually done the next day at the home Victoria was staying at). And don’t worry, hubby David Beckham was in on the decision — Posh “kept sending David pictures to check he approves.” But she certainly does, saying “I love my new hair color, I’ve certainly got a spring in my step. And I’m keen to see if blondes really do have more fun!”
