Chatting With Naomi Campbell After Her Runway Return

Julien Macdonald kept press (such as myself) and celebs (Kimberley Stewart and Brit It-Girl Peaches Geldof) waiting for over an hour and a half on Tuesday night as his Autumn/Winter fashion show. When Naomi Campbell glided down the catwalk for the first time in two years to rapturous applause, I have to admit it was worth the wait. Backstage I chatted to her as she was slipping out of the little gold sequined number she wore on the runway. “It was fun to be part of Julien’s show,” she said as I stared disbelievingly at her flawless complexion and perfectly toned limbs. “The music is great, the vibe is great and it’s fun backstage.” I ask the model what she finds so special about London as she slips back into her faded blue skinny jeans. “London is great, you see things here that you would never see anywhere else.” As she air kisses her way out, I am left thinking much the same. — Monique Jessen

Keep Germs Away With Antibacterial Brush Set

If you are like me, you have Purell in every room of your home and office and are always looking for new ways to keep germ-free. So, naturally my ears perked up when I heard about Sephora’s new antibacterial brush set. Formuated with fibers that repel germs, thanks to key ingredient Polyhexamethylene Biguanide (say that three times fast), these brushes feel just as soft as any other high-end brush and don’t interact with your makeup. The $42 silver-leather bound set comes with 4 brushes, an eyebrow comb and a mini-bottle of brush shampoo for extra cleanliness(!). Click here to get yours at sephora.com. — Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

It’s a Shoe Off! Gwen Stefani vs. Jennifer Lopez

Fashion faceoffs are typically a whole look — a dress, a coat — but when you are talking about women as stylish and trendsetting as Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Lopez, it’s worth talking about how they wear the same accessoriies. Both women headed out this week wearing one of spring’s hottest shoes, the towering six inch YSL Tribute pumps. Gwen wore hers with trim black slacks to a taping of The Jimmy Kimmel show, while Jennifer paired hers with black tights and a deconstructed minidress during a photocall for her new film Bordertown in Madrid. We are amazing at what a difference the tights and hemlines make — and that they can both move so well in such high heels! Tell us: Who do you think wears the pump better? Gwen Stefani or Jennifer Lopez?

Mariah vs. Posh: Whose Airport Look Is Better?

For most of us, travel outfits involve slip-off shoes for security and a comfy sweatsuit for falling asleep in the plane. But for diva Mariah Carey and fashionista Victoria Beckham, the airport is just another opportunity to look glam. Mariah entered JFK airport in New York in a Gucci poncho and slim black jeans tucked into boots — with designer sunglasses and flawlessly curled hair, no less. Arriving at LAX, Posh also wore her skinny jeans and heels, pairing them with a menswear vest and blazer (and a not-so-practical white Hermes Birkin bag). We love that these ladies get dressed up for every occasion, no matter what. Tell us: Whose airport look do you like better? Mariah or Posh?
