Jay-Z’s Fresh Take on Cherry Coke

Now that Jay-Z has famously forsaken Cristal champagne, he has turned to drinking . . . Cherry Coke? After putting his stamp on rap and on the fashion industry as the founder of the successful Rocawear brand, the mogul has redesigned the iconic Coke can with a fashionable urban edge — hence the edgy cityscape, deep pink cherries and star-studded New York Fashion Week debut. We love the look of the new can, but our only question is whether or not gal pal — and Pepsi spokeswoman — Beyonce loves it too? Rocawear-designed cans can now be found on fashionable grocery shelves near you.

companies think that getting high profile celebrities to sell their products is going to generate major sales. From what I know and from what I know from other people, it just doesn’t work and if people don’t like the product it will flop. I doubt this will last long…

I love cherry coke, especially cherry coke zero. I absolutely love the cherry coke zero design with the middle of the cherry missing, that is awesome. I could care less who designed it, but great job! I will drink it no matter the design or designer. I do however think that the new design makes it more appealing.

Meg

I do like cherry coke and all of my friends and family do too. id buy it!

uhm…cherry zero. i have had cherry coke but not the zero. is it tasty? the coke cans have color and not the plain red or silver. neato! will try it out the next time i hit the supermarket CHERRY ZERO.

i love dark chocolate

nice…i think its fresh!! i loved cherry coke before, and i love it even more now

Alex

I think it’s a good design, but I agree that having it associated with any kind of celebrity isn’t really going to boost sales all that much. Coke is such a major product already, people who are buying it are buying it because they like it, not because someone designed the can differently.

Unless coke did something completely different, and came out with some different shaped can or bottle. Then that’d be cool.
