Clive Owen’s New Role: The Face of Lancome

Danny Moloshok/Reuters/Landov

We love seeing sexy and suave 42-year-old British actor Clive Owen onscreen, and now we’ll get to see him splashed across the pages of magazines as the new face of Lancome. The prestigious beauty brand, which counts Uma Thurman among its past spokespeople, has tapped the Children of Men star to be the face of their Hypnôse Homme and Lancôme Men anti-aging skin-care range with ads launching in the spring. Odile Roujol, general manager of Lancôme International, explained the company’s not-so-surprising reason for picking the rugged actor: “Clive Owen is an incredibly talented, intelligent and appealing man.” And we couldn’t agree more.

Britney, Paris, Lindsay & Mariah Make Blackwell’s Worst-Dressed List

Lins-AlphaX/X17

For the 47th year, Mr. Blackwell has come out with his biggest offenders — and who were the worst of 2006? BFFs-no-more Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Of the hard-partying duo, the style arbiter says “Two peas in an over-exposed pod! Style-free and fashion deprived. . .ladies and gentlemen, the ‘SCREAMGIRLS’ have arrived!” Next on his hit list are Camilla Parker-Bowles (”The Duchess of Dowdy”), Lindsay Lohan (”from adorable to deplorable”), Christina Aguilera (”all crass, no class”) and Mariah Carey (”the Queen of Catastrophic Kitsch”). Rounding out the Top Ten Worst are Paula Adbul, Sharon Stone, Tori Spelling, Sandra Oh and Meryl Streep. Meow! But who does Mr. Blackwell think is doing it right? His “Fabulous Fashion Independents for 2006″ include our favorites Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce and Katie Holmes. Other stylish stars on his list include Helen Mirren, Barbra Streisand, Nancy Pelosi, Princess Charlotte of Monaco, Heidi Klum and Marcia Cross.

Tell us: Do you agree with Mr. Blackwell? Who do you think deserved to go on his list?

Get the Look: Leather Hoodies

We love a trend that’s both attractive and functional — and leather hoodies definitely fit the bill. They can go casual with jeans and sneakers, which is how we’ve spotted Keira Knightley wearing them, or use them to toughen up a sweet cocktail dress, for the ultimate in nighttime cool like Rachel Bilson. Layer them over sweaters now or over a sundress when the weather starts heating up in the spring. Here are a few of our favorites.

For more celebrity trends and to vote on your favorites, visit our Would You Wear This gallery.

For a star splurge, pick up one just like Rachel Bilson’s from Mike and Chris, $583.

For a smart buy, try this faux-fur trimmed hoodie from DKNY, $195.

For a style steal, grab this jacket with detachable hood from Giacca, $33.

Meet Rinko Kikuchi: Fashionista or Flop?

While Rinko Kikuchi’s turn as a deaf-mute teenager in Babel may have won her a Golden Globe nomination, her wardrobe is speaking volumes. A former model in her native Japan, the 25-year old actress is already showing a knack for wearing high fashion with a quirky twist, and her outfits at the 18th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival were no exception. From her black mini with attached bustle, which reminded us of Demi Moore’s infamous Oscars dress, to her logo-laden Chanel suit with ankle warmers, the ingenue is definitely not playing it safe. We can’t wait to see what she wears to the Golden Globes next week. Tell us: What do you think of Rinko’s style? Does she need a Red Carpet makeover or is she a fashionista in the making?

Fashion Faceoff: Keira Knightley and her Boyfriend?

Keira Knightley and her boyfriend Rupert Friend always seem to be holding hands in public. And while it’s sweet to see two people so smitten, we’ve noticed that the two seem to be growing eerily close – especially in the style department where they share an uncanny resemblance. Seriously, are they merging into the same person? Witness their dark brown locks (which seem to be the same length); their love of hats; the dark denim; and – must we continued to list similarities? – the matching his-and-her Converse sneakers. Yikes! What’s going on? Tell us: Is their coordinated boho-look just a coincidence? Or are Knightley and Friend truly influencing each other’s style? Would you match your significant other on purpose?
